This weeks new recipe

Thought you might like to know this weeks new recipe. I found it on epicurious.com. One of my favorite web sites.

Very easy too!

Apricot- Sausage Kabos
3/4 cup apricot preserves
3/4 cup dijion mustard
1 pound kielbasa or polish sausage, cut into 12 pieces
12 dried apricots
12 fresh med. mushrooms ( I realize I will be the only one eating these)

Alternate, sausage, mushrooms and apricots on sckwers

Combine perserves and mustard (sounds sweet and spicey)

Grill until meat is golden brown 15-20 turning and basting the kabobs with 1/2 of the sauce.

Use remaining sauce to serve over cooked rice.

Sounds great to me. I will let you know how it is!!!!!!
Ok it seems to me that this thing is upside down, my first comment should be at the top with each additional comment or post following. So start from the bottom and go up until I figure this out
I am still working on this and trying to figure it all out. I am having fun and getting frustrated at the same time.

So what do you all think of Jennifers friend Ryan? He is very nice young man. We were all impressed with how easily he fit in andwhat an all around nice guy he is.

Dannon and the mascara, well now that is a story. All was quiet for a minute( that is all it takes with this kid) and then he comes walking out with a big grin on his face like nothing was unusual. I don't know that he learned this was wrong because instantly we all ran for a cameras and started snapping pictures.

Today is a new Day, lets begin

Last week I had the opprotunity to take a vacation. While I love being with my family, laying on the beach (tanning tee hee) watching movies, reading and simply relaxing, I discovered one new thing about myself, that is, I do not do any of these thing very well. It is a real stretch for me to not want to get up and do something more productive. Since I forgot to pack my tennis shoes, walking or hiking were out, and so were my great intentions of going to Curves on a daily basis. Of course since I could not exercise, why diet! Right? Wrong! Yet sadly that is my mentality. I strayed, back to my original thought.
One morning as I was reading in Alma, which I have read countless times, I came across something that struck me. I was reading regarding the work of the Sons Of Mosiah and how they converted the 7 cities, which then became the Anti-Nephi-Lehies, these are the people who layed down thier weapons of war and refused to go to battle. The Anti-Nephi-Lehies became a very righteous people and found great favor in the sight of the Lord. The thing the struck me ( I know you are all sitting on the edge of your seats to know this!) is at the end of that chapter it states that they became a INDUSTRIOUS people. This while I was laying around relaxing!!
I began to equate industry with spirituallity. Now I do not mean to imply that we should never take a vacation, that simply would not come out of my mouth! Yet I have been having the desire to do something more. Yes I am still thinking of training a seeing eye dog or volunteering at the hospital. In the mean time I thought it would be a good way to keep in touch if I started a blog.
Now I am fairly certain that this is not what is meant in the Book of Mormom when it talks about being industrious but for me it is a start!
I am new at this and hope to improve with time. This can be a space for all of us to keep in touch, to send pictures or post commments.
I also believe that it is good to share ones thoughts, ambitions and dreams with those who are close to you and then you are more likely to try and fullfill them. Instead of just idle thoughts racing through ones head.
Here are some things that I am going to try and do to become a more industrious person. I am going to study my scriptures on a daily basis, not just read. I am going to start sewing again on a regular basis. As a young Mom I found such joy in sewing, it was the one thing that I did that would last. The toilets would need cleaning again tommorow, the dishes would need to be done next meal and the laundry was never done, but the dress would last for a season at least. Of course I taught my little girls to always say, when someone complimented them on thier dress, "Thank you, my Mommy made it"!! The kudos that would follow were nice too! I am gong to try one new receipe a week for my family and with that I want to set a nice table and have a real family dinner. We really are tired of chips over fritos! Of course this will be a well balanced meal with low cal and low carb because I am also going to become more health consceince, veggies here we come, Quentin is soooooooo excitied about this one aspect. I am also excitied about our new book club that we have started as well as the other one I am in, this gives me two books to read a month. This is a start and if I do well on this list in a few months I will add some new goals to my to becoming a more industrious person.
Gee, just writing this all down I feel so much better already. Wish me luck!!
